The flooding got very close.  This is 905 Beech Bend Drive on Saturday, this was basically the high water line.  looking down that street are hundreds of houses under water. 

The following Pictures are what was left down this street once the water left.  The Harpeth river rose to 34 feet, thats 31 feet higher than normal.  All the stuff on the front yards were what people pulled out in the past 36 hours.  They are racing the mold setting in.  I helped clean out a crawlspace, the insulation needed to be removed before it molds up.

This year we had a Zombie and a Mermaid.  The weather was perfect, clear sky and a full moon – just amazing.  We saw at least 100+ trick or treaters.  Nicholas outfit was a goodwill suit that we tore up at the last minute.  He got really into being a Zombie, complete with moaning.  Pauline decided on carry her pet hamster (a real one) with her while trick or treating.  Donna didnt know she had it until they started going up to doors.  She would hold the hamster up to the door and scream trick or treat.  Everyone gave the hamster a second glance.

It was quick and the neighborhood demons all went home, spread their candy out on the carpet and ate themselves into candy oblivion.

During Nicholas recent illness he has become obsessed with Lego City lego kits. 

It was a Saturday morning (two weeks ago) and Pauline comes up to me with a hand full of money (that she pilfered from around the house) and said “You go buy Hamster….we need a pet”.   This was a compromise from a puppy and she was so sweet, so why not.  She had been talking about wanting a pet for months.  Since this was going to be their pet then it was agreed they had to pay with money they had earned from being good.

Off we go to PetCo with her $14 and $20 from Nicholas piggy bank and got great customer service from a PetCo worker .  We learned that Gerbils are too active for young hands but social.  Hamsters are not social, but perfect from young ones.  Pauline picked out the cutest hamster and initially was too afraid to hold it.  Two weeks later she wont put it down.  Poor hamster gets carried everywhere, it even gets subjected to being dressed up in Barbi doll dresses.  Each Saturday is cage cleaning day, so far the cage is not been too much of a mess. 

Everyone came over and we all went down to the river.
